Hubert "Preach" Miracle

Hubert "Preach" Miracle, 91, of Stanford, was called from his earthly home to his heavenly home on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at 5:30PM. Hubert was born April 7, 1921in Laurel County. He was the son of the late William Abraham Miracle and Nancy Catherine Hoskins Miracle. Hubert was a proud veteran of WWII, serving as a telephone pole climber in the 926 Signal Core. He also landed and drove a Jeep onto Normandy Beach. He was a farmer for many years and loved to build barns. He was a member of Fairview Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, Hubert was preceded in death by his loving wife, Vertrice "Berta" Long Miracle; daughter, Barbara Miracle; three sisters, Mary Ellen Everett, Mossie Hoskins, and Dessie Robbins; five brothers, Dan, Harvey, Boyd, Robert, and Lloyd Miracle. Hubert leaves behind his daughter, Mary Miracle Dishon (Robert) of Danville; three grandsons, Norman Christopher Reed, Bryan Dishon, and Michael Dishon; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Barbara Ariel Dishon; one sister, Bessie Miracle Peck; and lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home with Bro. Johnny Baker officiating. Active Pallbearers will be , Norman Christopher Reed, Michael P. Dishon, Jim Peck, Don Miracle, Phil and Robert Everett, and Todd Kirkpatrick. Burial will follow in Buffalo Springs Cemetery with full military rites performed by the Caswell-Saufley Post #18.

Rose Marilyn Osterman, 72, of Cincinnati, passed away Saturday, August 18, 2012 at the Hospice of Cincinnati. Born February 14, 1940 in Grove Ridge, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Charlie Ancil & Violet Stull Frederick. Rose was a retired employee of Mitsubishi Electronics, and loved her flowers and gardening.In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Manuel Frederick. Her survivors include two sons, Doug & David (Rhonda) Osterman , both of Cincinnati, two daughters, Theresa (Daniel) Maston of Columbus, Ohio and Lesa DeRoiser of Monroe, Ohio, a brother, Ancil Frederick of Corinth, Ky., two sisters, Rohenia Colvin of Bloomington, Indiana & Faith Marie Ramey of Perryville, 10 grandchildren & 8 great grandchildren.Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home by Rev. Keith Willoughby with burial following in KP Hall Cemetery. Pallbearers will be David & Greg Osterman, Cody & Daniel Maston, Jim Cochran and Tom Colvin , with Kevin Osterman serving as honorary pallbearer.

Virginia Lee Davis, 95, of Hwy. 1770, died Thursday, August 2, 2012. Born July 25, 1917, in Hazard, she was the daughter of the late Harrison and Ida Combs. Along with her husband, Maurice Claude M.C. Davis, she ran family owned groceries and commissaries, in Corbin, Harlan and Danville. She was a graduate of Hazard High School and a member of Stanford Baptist Church. Virginia worked as a nurse for Dr. Bailey in Hazard and taught Sunday school for several years at Stanford Baptist Church.Virginia was a lover of her flowers, all animals and anyone in need. She was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.She was preceded in death by her husband Maurice Claude M.C. Davis. Survivors include her two sons, Glenn W. Davis of Stanford and Raymond H. Davis of Lexington; daughter in law, Evelyn Davis of Stanford and Diana L. Davis of Lexington; two grandchildren, Allison L. Culbertson of Versailles, husband B. Logan Culbertson, and Michael G. Davis of Lexington; two great-grandchildren, Lucy G. Culbertson and Zoe L. Culbertson of Versailles; brothers in law Dr. Franklin Davis of North Point, Florida and Kenneth Davis of Prospect, Kentucky. Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, August 4, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home by Rev. Max Hester. Burial will be in the Buffalo Springs Cemetery where she will be reunited forever with her dear husband, Maurice Claude M.C. Davis. Jeanette K. Wrenn, 78, of Stanford, passed away Saturday, July 7, 2012 in Richmond . Born May, 23, 1934 in Millstone, Kentucky, she was the daughter of the late Roy L. & Ottie May Back Keel. Mrs. Wrenn had been a cook at Fort Logan Hospital for 22 years and was a member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Stanford. She was the widow of Floyd Wrenn, Sr. Her survivors include two sons, Floyd Wrenn of Florence and Steve Wrenn of Richmond , three daughters, Jodie (Curtis) Young of Las Vegas , Nevada , Donna (Bill ) Tudor and Linda Gullette, both of Richmond , eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Services for Mrs. Wrenn will be at 2 PM, Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Calvary Hill Baptist Church by Rev. Johnny Adamson with burial following in Friendship Cemetery, Broughtontown, Kentucky. Carlos Coleman, 58 of Martin Court in Stanford passed away, Friday, July 7, 2012 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville, Ky. He was born Sunday, December 20, 1953 in Lincoln County to Dorothy Aline Hodge Coleman of Stanford, KY and the late Farris Coleman. He was a farmer and enjoyed fishing. He is preceded in death by a sister; Lynn Ann Coleman. Along with his mother, survivors include his wife; Mary Coleman of Stanford, KY, a daughter Dorthy Frances Coleman of Stanford, KY, brothers; Garland Coleman of Stanford, KY, James R. Patricia “Pat” Montgomery

Patricia "Pat" Montgomery, 69, of Sherwood Drive, passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012 in Stanford. Born March 29, 1943 in Stanford, she was a daughter of the late David & Ruby McGuffey Young. She had worked as Secretary for the Stanford High School, as a nurse/lab technician for 25 years in Stanford, and retired after 18 years as a Lincoln County Courthouse employee serving in the positions of Secretary, Payroll Clerk & Deputy Judge Executive. Pat was a member of Stanford Baptist Church and a Kentucky Colonel. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Janice Kathrine Montgomery. Pat will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister, daughter, grandmother, friend, and much more. Her survivors include her husband of 51 years, Bob Montgomery, a son, Scott (Suzanne) Montgomery, a daughter, Karen (Steve) Patterson, three grandchildren, Kristin (Bruce) Williams, Connor Patterson & Ryan Montgomery all of Stanford, and a brother, David Ronnie (Sheila) Young of Corbin. Services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home by Rev. Max Hester. Burial will take place in Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Pauline Moore, 88 of Kings Mountain passed away, Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital. She was born Monday, April 21, 1924 in Lincoln County, Kentucky to the late Oliver and Naomi Delk Sims. She was a seamstress at Cowden's, a member of Green River Pentecostal Church, and enjoyed making quilts. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband; Frank C. Moore, a son; Jerry Moore, a brother Paul Moore, a sister; Hazel Privett and a daughter in law; Karen Moore. Survivors include her son; Terry Moore of Somerset, sisters; Louise Houncell of Louisville, KY, Mildred Jones of McKinney, KY, Almedia Beckett of Falmouth, KY, and Deloris Terry of Stanford, KY, a daughter in law; Carole Moore of Kings Mountain, KY, 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be 11 am, Friday, May 18, 2012 at Green River Pentecostal Church with Bro. Rick Naylor officiating. Burial will follow at Buffalo Springs Cemetery. Beulah Lewis, 68, of the Highland Community, passed away Friday, May 4, 2012 at the Golden Living Center. She was born in Bell County, Kentucky to the late James and Laura Taylor Hoskins. Beulah was a teacher for 32 years, 26 of those years at Highland Elementary, and a member of the Retired Teachers Association. She took great pride in watching her students learn to read. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Christian Church. Beulah leaves behind her loving husband, Larry D. Lewis of Highland, a son Charlie (Jill) Lewis of Stanford; daughters, Suzanne (Scott) Montgomery of Stanford, and Laura Beth Lewis of Danville; a brother Paul (Jauana) Hoskins of East Tawas City, MI; sisters, Betty (Harold) Jeffery of Norwood, OH, and Evelyn Robbins of Mt. Washington; 5 grandchildren, Gentry & Peyton Lewis, Ryan Montgomery, Ethan Lewis, and Savannah Carver. In addition to her parents, Beulah was preceded in death by brothers, Elmer, Luther, Jack, Millard, J.M. G.W. and Bill Hoskins, and a sister Irene Wilson. Bernie Marie Atkins Sowders, 85, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Stanford, Ky. She was born in Stanford, Ky. to Archie and Miranda Sears Atkins on Tuesday, April 5, 1927. She was the widow of Craig Sowders. She was a member of the Stanford Baptist Church and a retired CNA nursing assistant at Fort Logan Hospital. She was also preceded in death by a brother Archie Atkins, Jr. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn McClure and a Son, Kim (Karen) Sowders, both of Stanford, three Grandchildren, Terry (Ellen) McClure, Karen (Tony) Morgan of Stanford, and Christopher Sowders of Danville, five Great Grandchildren, Jessica and Austin McClure, Autumn, Justice, and Keigan Morgan and her beloved cat Lady. Services for Bernie will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 4, 2012 at Fox Funeral Home by Rev. Johnny Adamson. Visitation will be 4 - 7 p.m. before service time. There will be a committal service held at Buffalo Springs Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5, 2012. Mary was a in-home caretaker and longtime minister last serving at the Turnersville Pentecostal Church before her illness and enjoyed singing gospel music. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon, a sister, Carolyn Rogers, and a grandson, Jonah R. Griffin. Lenora was born on Monday, June 14th, 1993 in Somerset to William Glynn & Lori Mae Parker. Lenora was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and active in the youth group. She was a student at Lincoln County High School and a cashier at Durham's Grocery Store in Stanford; a cheerleader at Stanford Elementary, Lincoln Middle School, Garrard County High School and Lincoln County High School; she was also a girl scout from Daisy til Cadette, active in the 4H Club, and a model for Images Modeling Agency; she was also involved with Gymnastics at KCâ€™s Gymnastics and Damons CTA. Lenora leaves behind her father William Parker of France; mother Lori Withers Parker of Stanford and her fiancÃ© Rick Watson; brother David Tyler Withers of Stanford; her boyfriend Stevie Bolden of Hustonville; Maternal Grandparents Norris & Knoxie Withers of Stanford; Paternal Grandmother Jayne Parker of Danville; Uncles Tom Prater, Tim Withers, & George Parker; Aunt Betsy Prater; cousins Ashley Rose Withers, Erica & Monica Withers, Sara Jessica Prater; and a host of other family and friends.
